The Market Overview

Ghana expects its oil production to reach 500,000bpd by 2020, which will be more than double its current production level. By the end of 2018, two of Ghana's major projects; the Sankofa and TEN fields are expected to start production.

The TEN project started in 2016, with a production capacity of 80,000bpd. The Sankofa - Gye project has already begun and contains reserves of approximately 116million barrels of oil and 31.1 billion cubic meters of gas.

Ghana earned $3.208 Billion Dollars from Oil Revenue between 2011-2015. Forecasts for the coming years have uncertain due to volatility of Oil Prices in recent years with price per barrel falling by as much as 35% in the year 2015 alone. Industry players are however optimistic of stability of prices and forecast growth in the coming years with the exploration and development of both offshore and onshore fields.
